UnitFrom Dominion Gaming WikiA unit is a basic organizational structure within Dominion Gaming.
Club StructureIn order to facilitate club activities, the Dominion utilizes a military-like organizational structure. At each level of the structure a leader is responsible for specific aspects of Dominion operations. UnitsSquadThe most basic unit of the Dominion is the squad. A squad is led by a Squad Leader who is directly responsible for the members assigned to their unit. They may be assisted in their duties by a Fire Team Leader. Each squad is dedicated to one officially-supported Dominion game platform. The squad is a flexible unit which varies in size depending on the needs and popularity of the game platform in question. As a result, squads may range in size from only 4-5 members to up to approximately 16 members. In games where the Dominion has a large presence, several squads (up to a Platoon in size) may be dedicated to the same game platform. Members are initially placed into squads based on the game through which they were initially recruited; however, members may request a transfer to a different squad at a later date (by contacting their respective Platoon Commander) should their primary game change. While members are assigned to a specific squad for administrative purposes, a member's unit assignment in no way limits their participation in other Dominion-supported games. Many Dominion members participate in several supported games and simply choose to be assigned to the platform where they spend the most of their gaming time. PlatoonA Dominion platoon is typically composed of two to four squads, containing up to 66 members. Multiple platoons are organized into a company, which typically consists of two or three platoons. The platoon is led by the Platoon Commander who is a Dominion commissioned officer. He may also be assisted by a senior non-commissioned officer - the Platoon Sergeant. CompanyA Dominion company is typically composed of two or three platoons. The company is led by a Company Commander who is a senior Dominion commissioned officer of the rank of Captain or higher. At maximum possible strength a company may consist of up to nearly 200 members. As of this revision, the Dominion consists of two line companies. Both companies fall under the direct command and control of the Forces Commander. The Dominion also maintains a Headquarters and Headquarters Company for administrative purposes which consists of the Command Group staff and separate detachment members. DetachmentA Dominion detachment is a specialized container unit removed from the standard command structure for a specific purpose. As of this revision the Dominion had two detachments: the Reserve Detachment, for members currently holding Reserve status within the Dominion, and the Recruiting Station which holds newly-recruited members pending assignment to a line unit. Both of these detachments fall under the command and control of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company. See Also
